The Favre-a-thon rolls on

I know we haven't done much on Brett Favre's retirement, so we'll try to ramp things up this afternoon. We're a little less than an hour and 15 minutes from his news conference in Green Bay.

I expect it to be an emotional event. In a lot of ways, this retirement has played out like a funeral. We've seen video of fans with tears in their eyes and the mayor of Green Bay talked to the Los Angeles Times about the different stages of grief. The Packers would be wise to hold the news conference at a local arena so that fans could have some sense of closure.

We'll be monitoring the news conference from our home office in Dallas. If you're working from home today, SportsCenter and ESPN News will simulcast the news conference beginning at noon ET.
