The Biloxi Sun Herald also reported this morning that local hero Brett Favre was retiring from the Green Bay Packers. Favre's brother, Scott, told the newspaper that Favre had informed coach Mike McCarthy that he was walking away.
During the playoffs, Favre seemed to indicate to the Sun Herald that he was leaning toward returning for another season. It's hard to believe he would walk away after such a remarkable season -- especially since he told his pal Peter King how much his kids still wanted him to play.
Now, Favre can spend the rest of his days hunting, fishing and playing touch football in Wrangler jeans.
