Matt Mosley is working his food-court sources at the Indianapolis airport. One of the patrons at the Asian Chao eatery told him Chargers tight end Antonio Gates expects to undergo surgery to repair the foot injury that severely limited him during the playoffs. The patron was Gates, who said he was in town to meet with a prominent surgeon. Gates told Mosley he expects to miss 4-6 months after undergoing surgery. Check out Mosley's report here. We need to have him camp out in airport food courts more often. This is some of his finest work. I didn't tell him that Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune caught up with Gates in the convention center, before Gates left for the airport, resulting in this report.
Look for Matt's full review of the Asian Chao eatery sometime next week.
