If he's anything like most prospects at the combine, Pitt offensive lineman Mike McGlynn has spent some time preparing for interviews with teams. He's rehearsed in his mind what he'll say when a coach asks him about his priorities away from football, or other questions designed to reveal glimpses of character.
Teams might be getting more creative as they come up with ways to elicit fresh answers. Take the question McGlynn heard last night: What's the coolest thing you've ever done?
"You hear all these questions that are real serious," McGlynn said. "You get hit with 'What's the coolest thing you've ever done?' You think, 'I didn't prepare for this one.'"
McGlynn told them what Mosley wanted to hear. "I told 'em, 'Meeting Kenny Chesney last summer,' " McGlynn said.
