Hash checks in with Giants expert

I spent a few minutes at halftime chatting with former New York Times NFL writer Clifton Brown, who now writes for the Sporting News. He's covered dozens of Tom Brady's games over the years, and he said he's never seen him get hit this much.

Clifton said the Patriots are doing a poor job of identifying where Giants defensive end Justin Tuck is lining up on every play. And if you haven't been paying attention, Tuck is moving up and down the line of scrimmage. He's giving Pro Bowler Logan Mankins all he can stand. Look for the Patriots to try and complete short passes to Wes Welker early in the second half.

On that first pass to Welker, defensive end Osi Umenyiora dropped back in coverage. He had no chance on the play. Brady is still getting hit a ton, but on this drive, he's getting rid of the ball quickly. Umenyiora flew past Matt Light on that short pass to Faulk.
