Antonio Gates pushed off nicely to set up that one-handed grab along the sideline for a big gain. Philip Rivers hasn't been able to find open receivers consistently -- running backs account for six of his 16 completions -- but he has made up for it on third down. That pass to Gates gained 24 yards on third-and-10. The Chargers are deep in Denver territory pending a Broncos challenge. A touchdown here would make it 23-0 midway through the third quarter. Rivers has completed two-thirds of his passes with a 7.3-yard average per attempt and an 88.0 rating. The Chargers hold a 24:58 to 10:33 advantage in time of possession. Denver's Jay Cutler has attempted only nine passes. San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson has 18 carries for 101 yards.
