Our final Monday Night Football blog of the 2007 season is here. Thanks to Matt Mosley for letting me have the Christmas Eve game. I had to pull some strings, but it worked out. We're blogging for pride and draft positioning at this point in the season. Wait, check that. The Denver Broncos are playing for pride and draft positioning at this point. Which is not to suggest that this MNF closer is meaningless. It might be quite meaningful for the San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers can clinch the third seed in the AFC by winning their final two games. If the Chargers falter, Pittsburgh can still come away with that third seed.
The difference between the third and fourth seed is this: The fourth seed faces a wild-card home game against Jacksonville. The third seed faces a wild-card home game against Tennessee or Cleveland.
The Jaguars are probably the toughest draw of the three. They defeated the Chargers and Steelers during the regular season, whereas the Chargers defeated the Titans and the Steelers swept the Browns.
