In case you missed it, Patriots coach Bill Belichick made it clear Friday that he truly hates Jet coach Eric Mangini. Belichick initially refused to address a report in Newsday on Wednesday that the Jets used an end-zone camera without the Patriots' permission during last season's divisional playoff game.
The camera was confiscated by Gillette Stadium officials, but we never heard anything about it at the time. And for good reason. In the pre-Estrella era, team videographers operated in the shadows, except when they needed good lighting.
Now, departments are under far more scrutiny. I watched a Broncos official nearly toss a film crew out of the press box a few weeks ago. Turns out it was a group from the Trinity Broadcasting Network attempting to capture the post-game prayer huddle.
Final score from Foxborough tomorrow: Patriots 34, Jets 7
The post-game handshake will be canceled due to a poor relationship. What is it with the Parcells coaching tree? Walsh's guys stick together for the most part. Big Bill's guys stop talking to each other for years at a time.
Oh well. I'm off to Minneapolis. Hear it's gorgeous this time of year.
One more thing: Some nice detail on the cameras from Tom Rock and Bob Glauber if you scroll down a little bit and click on the video.
