Field not pretty, but footing seems to be OK

Radio announcers are having a hard time providing yard-line information because this field is in sad shape. The sod appears ground up at the 5- and 30-yard lines, and also at midfield. Those ugly swaths presumably line up with where the seams were in the tarps that covered the field before kickoff. As ugly as the field appears, the players seem to be holding their footing better than expected. We've seen running backs make cuts without falling.

The umpire is wiping off the ball between plays. Pittsburgh is going with an empty backfield right now, but it didn't work. The Dolphins brought pressure with a sack and forced him to fumble. Roethlisberger recovered the ball, setting up second-and-forever. Roethlisberger went splashing across the turf while he recovered the ball, sending water everywhere, but footing could be worse. This is probably one of the best underwater fields in the league.

The Dolphins' white uniforms are not covered in mud, another indication this field is playing more consistently than we might expect. Miami has experience in worse conditions, having played the Giants in a mud pit over in London.

On another front, I'll once again link to the Excel-based Steelers roster we mentioend earlier. The previous link when to an Excel 2007 file, which won't work if you're running Excel 2003. The original Dolphins roster should work.
