Redskins Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor was shot at his home outside Miami early this morning and is listed in critical condition.
According to various reports, Taylor was shot in the groin during what police are investigating as a possible robbery. The Miami Herald reports that about 20 family members have gathered at Jackson Memorial Hospital, but they refused to speak to reporters.
Here's a statement the Redskins released earlier today. Taylor was not with the team Sunday in Tampa because of a knee injury he suffered against the Eagles on Nov. 11.
The Redskins closed their locker room to reporters this morning, and head coach Joe Gibbs will address the situation at his regularly scheduled Monday news conference later today.
Our friend Jason La Canfora has now talked to a few Redskins players, and he's provided some more details on Taylor's condition. Here's the latest report from the Washington Post.
We'll try to monitor all the reports that are coming in and keep you posted.
