Niners tight end Vernon Davis questioned the team's game plan against the Seahawks. He wondered why he was spending so much time blocking instead of stretching the defense down the field. Davis was questioning the game plan even when the 49ers were having more success offensively (early in the season). Of course, the 49ers' issues go far beyond how Davis might be used from game to game. At this point, the 49ers probably need to spend more energy trying to execute the plays being called. Procedural penalties bogged them down at times.
"We didn't attack the way we should've. I was on the back side protecting a lot. They didn't put me down the field, for some reason." -- Vernon Davis
Davis said he approached Mike Nolan during the game to let the coach know he wanted to become more involved in the passing game. Like a lot of things the 49ers tried in this game, the ploy did not work.
