Referee Larry Nemmers decided that Parys Haralson's helmet-to-helmet shot on Matt Hasselbeck wasn't flagrant enough to warrant an ejection. I would have to agree. Former NFL players Gary Plummer (49ers) and Jacob Green (Seahawks), speaking at ESPN's Chalk Talk luncheon this afternoon, were lamenting all the rules changes designed to protect quarterbacks. This one put Seattle in position to score on its first drive (13 plays, 84 yards). Hasselbeck completed eight of 11 passes for 69 yards and one touchdown, a short toss to Will Heller. He spread the ball around to five players during the drive. Hawks lead, 7-0.
