Miracle in Mississippi

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jerheme Urban probably couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his alma mater, Division III Trinity (Texas) University, show up on SportsCenter about 20 times last night.

The Tigers beat Millsaps (Mississippi) College, 28-24, on one of the wildest plays you'll ever see. The play-by-play announcer does an incredible job keeping everything straight, but his partner loses it after about the 12th lateral.

School officials are saying it was 14 laterals, but I counted 15. I have no idea why a couple of Millsaps players appeared to stop trying at the end of the play. They may have thought the game ended when the ball hit the ground after the 14th lateral.

And watch the flag come in after the touchdown. I'm thinking it's OK to let the kids celebrate after 15 laterals and a 61-yard game-winning touchdown.

I was looking for some other Trinity alums with NFL ties, and came up with Saints assistant linebackers coach Adam Zimmer, a frequent reader of Hashmarks.
