In addition to having more Hooters per capita than any city in the nation, Jacksonville also has a great selection of Hardee's. This week, the entire community is abuzz about Monday's Colts-Jags matchup.
The only problem is that no one knows what to wear to the game. The Jaguars marketing department launched a "Teal Out" campaign as part of its fall collection.
Fans have been instructed to wear all-teal clothing from head-to-toe, which has placed a tremendous strain on the area's leader in designer clothing, Super Wal-Mart.
Unfortunately, Jaguars players have not cooperated with the campaign. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew and linebacker Mike Peterson, a former Colt, have taken to the streets -- and local television -- to tell fans to wear all-black to the game.
Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor have delivered speeches at local Rotary and Lions Club meetings at Furr's Cafeteria. I just talked to Jacksonville radio talk show host Rick Ballou, who said his station has received more than 250 e-mails from confused Jaguars fans.
We'll continue to follow this story as it develops. And in an unrelated matter, are flu shots supposed to cause shortness of breath and slight chest pain?
with kindest regards,
