Bobby Petrino's postgame comments were those of a coach who knew his team couldn't match up over the course of four quarters. The Falcons had some opportunities during their 31-10 loss to the Giants, but there was never a sense they would be able to sustain anything over a full game. The Falcons can come out of this game knowing they competed pretty well and seemed to have a good plan for a team alleged to be in some disarray. They just weren't going to sustain enough offensively to keep pace.
"I thought we were ready to play," Petrino said. "We competed and held our own for a while, but they separated from us later in the game."
With that, I'm going to separate from this blog until next week in Jacksonville. Should be a good one with the Colts coming to town.
