We're almost ready for kickoff here in Irving. I've spent part of the past two hours visiting with Cowboys officials about quarterback Tony Romo's contract negotiations. Should have some interesting stuff for you later this afternoon.
Here are some things to keep in mind as you watch today's Cowboys-Rams game:
Rams quarterback Marc Bulger took a painkilling injection this morning for his broken ribs. He told our man Werder his ribs "hurt like hell." The injection is apparently the equivalent of taking 30 Advil -- or whatever brand you prefer.
The Rams look they will try to establish the run early with backup running back Brian Leonard, but Bulger said his injury won't prevent him from taking shots downfield.
"If we play scared and timid we're going to get our butts whipped."
The big news for the Cowboys is that defensive end Greg Ellis (Achilles) is active for the first time since he was injured against the Cardinals last November. Looks like he'll play mostly in the nickel defense. It's third-and-19 with 10:38 to go in the first quarter and he's on the field.
OK, I'll stop back by in a little while.
