T.O. to World: Draft Me (Updated)

September 5, 2007 5:48 AM

With some downtime on his hands Tuesday, Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens (left) flew to Los Angeles to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Wearing a dapper outfit, Owens, author of "Little T Learns How To Share," read an open letter to ESPN fantasy team owners.

Owens has become a semi-regular on the show, which is directed by former method actor Bobcat Goldthwait.

In his letter, Owens reached out to the five men in America who haven't held their draft. That this man would fly to LA six days before his team's regular-season opener speaks to his dedication.

When informed of Owens' appearance Tuesday afternoon, a Cowboys assistant coach said, "Are you [expletive] me?"

Owens was very gracious in his letter, saying, "This year our offense is set up to make big plays. We worked hard during the preseason and we're going to connect on a lot of touchdowns. Coach and I are on the same page. He understands my role and how I can help us win."

Try to overlook the oh-so-subtle jab Owens took at one of my ESPN colleagues. I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it.

I've also obtained T.O.'s pledge to ESPN fantasy owners:

"I will catch the ball. I will score touchdowns. I will have a great season. (feel the rhythm beginning to build).

"Did you see the preseason game against Houston? One touch, one touchdown. That's how it's going to be all year long. I'm aiming for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and at least 20 touchdowns. With our quarterback passing the ball, this is entirely possible.

And speaking of my quarterback ... you might as well draft him too, because he's going to the Pro Bowl this year.

Put me on your team and you won't be disappointed. I am going to help you win your fantasy league this season."

Sincerely,

Terrell Owens, No. 81

I don't know about you, but I feel like more players should include their jersey numbers at the end of open letters. Back in a moment.
