Martin, Davis highlight class of '95 backs

Curtis Martin's retirement sent me back through the class of running backs selected in 1995.

There were some good NFL players on the list and a couple of great ones, notably Martin and Terrell Davis.

Among those still playing: fullbacks William Henderson and Cory Schlesinger.

The five players drafted immediately before the Pats found Martin: tackle Melvin Tuten, tight end David Sloan, safety Chris Hudson, defensive end Greg Jefferson and linebacker Brian Williams.

  • Williamson joined ESPN.com in 2008 after four seasons covering the Denver Broncos for the Denver Post. He previously covered the Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.
  • Pat Yasinskas
  • Yasinskas joined ESPN.com in January 2008 after covering the Carolina Panthers for The Charlotte Observer for nine seasons. He began his journalism career with The Tampa Tribune in 1990.
