The Chicago Bears defensive tackle has shown that 60 days behind bars isnt an excuse for making poor eating choices. In addition to the "scoop of grits" and bologna sandwiches he shared with other inmates, the 300-pound lineman made a slight tweak to the South Beach Diet while purchasing the following items from the commissary:
- 162 beef sticks
- 40 honey bun sweet rolls
- 35 summer sausage blocks
- 35 bags of barbecue chips
Proving that man can't live on sausage blocks alone, Johnson mixed in 22 cups of coffee and 10 jugs of fruit punch. He'll write about the entire episode in his upcoming book, "Prison Honey Buns."
The head of the commissary at Cook County Jail wished Johnson well, and invited him to come back "real soon."
