Greg Brown & Nefi Perdomo (Skyline, Oakland): Brown had team-highs of 27 points and 14 rebounds, but it was Perdomo's three-point shot with 35 seconds left in overtime (nine points in OT) that helped the Titans hang on for a 67-66 victory over Castlemont in the semifinals of the Oakland Section championships at Laney College.
Jordan Burris (Stockdale, Bakersfield): Despite scoring 32 points for the Mustangs against Buchanan, odds are he was disappointed in his shooting from the free throw line as he made just five of 11 attempts in Stockdale's 66-63
loss.

Gary Franklin (Mater Dei, Santa Ana): Just when it seemed Etiwanda of Rancho Cucamonga was going to take charge, Franklin took Tyler Lamb's blocked shot and buried a three-pointer to swing the momentum back to the unbeaten Monarchs in the 70-60 CIFSS I-AA semifinal win. Franklin finished with a game-high 21 points.

Dominique O'Connor (Westchester, Los Angeles): Assists are rarely appreciated but when you have 12 of them as O'Connor did in the Comets' 75-35 rout of Fremont (Los Angeles) in the City quarterfinals, it's hard to miss. He added a dozen points, too.

Anthony Stover (Windward, Los Angeles): The 6-10 center was reported with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 20 blocks in last Friday night's 79-46 CIFSS playoff win over Buckley of Sherman Oaks. We verified Stover's blocked shots total with head coach Miguel Villegas, who stated that the UCLA-bound big man definitely had "19 or 20 blocks" and that the reported number is definitely not exaggerated. If the higher total is confirmed via videotape, it would tie the reported state single-game record of 20 first set in 1975 by Dan Ross of Lindsay and tied in 2004 by David Ellis from Capital Christian of Sacramento. "It was unbelievable to see," Villegas said. "He was blocking everything, it was like a spider up there. He was trapping everything in his web."

The 6-3 junior post scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, including 18 points and eight rebounds in the second half. Unfortunately, the Matadores season is over after a 71-63 loss to Campolindo of Moraga in the NCS D3 playoffs.
