Jordan Adamczyk & Kevin Voogt (Canyon, Canyon Country): Adamczyk had a field day, completing 24 of 34 passes for 342 yards and three TDs during a 35-14 win over West Ranch of Valencia. All three of the scores went to Voogt, who finished with nine receptions for 172 yards and TDs of 45, 31 and 24 yards

Michael Allain (Fullerton): Almost a weekly highlight film all by himself, Allain gained 280 yards on just 20 carries, scoring three times, in a 41-7 win over Sonora of La Habra.

Usua Amanam (Bellarmine, San Jose): With the loss to Serra of San Mateo a distant memory, the Bells took it out on cross-town Mitty in a 34-10 victory with Amanam doing most of the damage. He totaled 257 all-purpose yards and scored four touchdowns in four different ways: On a 37-yard run, a 62-yard punt return, a 20-yard pass and a 90-yard interception return.

Kevin Ayers (Lynwood): Knights' back and younger brother of UCLA linebacker Akeem Ayers rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-0 waxing of Downey High. He set the tone by scoring from 81 yards out on Lynwood's' second play from scrimmage and also scored on runs of 87 and 76 yards. The San Gabriel Valley League game was marred by a shooting that took place 10 minutes after the game was over across the street from Lynwood Middle School. Two years ago, shots also rang out after this content on the same field.    

Dominique Barnes (Burroughs, Burbank): Rushed for 277 yards and five touchdowns during a 56-9 Pacific League victory over Arcadia. Barnes did his damage in only 16 carries.   

Anthony Barr (Loyola, Los Angeles):  One of the state's top junior tailbacks rushed for 216 yards on 40 carries to help the Cubs down then state-ranked Bishop Amat of La Puente, 17-6, in their Serra League opener. Amazingly, it was the Cubs' first Moore League win since 2005 as they missed the playoffs the last two seasons after winning the CIFSS Div. I title in 2005. Before the, they had been to the playoffs for 25 consecutive seasons. They want to start another streak starting this season.  

Josh Brannon (Pacifica, Garden Grove): Was all but unstoppable as he rushed for 245 yards and five touchdowns in Pacifica's 40-13 win over Kennedy of La Palma.

Mario Brown (Bishop O'Dowd, Oakland): The explosive 5-foot-9, 165-pound junior tailback went over the 200-yard mark for the second time in three weeks in a 21-17 victory over Castro Valley. On Oct. 17 he went for 204 yards in a win against Hayward. Last week against the Trojans, Brown had a season-high 225 yards on a whopping 43 carries with three touchdowns. He now has 1,084 yards and 17 touchdowns on the season.

Jesse Callier (Warren, Downey): Stat star regular was at it again during the Bears' 39-21 victory over Gahr of Cerritos. Callier helped Warren stay unbeaten in San Gabriel Valley League play by churning for 284 yards and three touchdowns, including a 87-yarder, on 28 carries. He has scored 16 TDs so far this season and has rushed for 1,633 yards.     

Derek Carr (Bakersfield Christian): Featured last Thursday on ESPN NEWS, Carr continued his hot hand the next day by throwing for five touchdowns for 279 yards, completing 13 of 17 passes against Shafter in a South Sequoia League game that the Eagles won, 56-7.

Robert Cruz (Magnolia, Anaheim): Averaged better than 10 yards a carry as he gained 315 yards on 31 lugs and scored five touchdowns in a 41-29 win over Santa Ana Valley. He also scored once on a pass reception, gaining another 97 yards on just two catches.

Deontae Cooper (Citrus Hill, Perris): Scored three times on runs and once on a 39-yard interception return in a 49-8 win over Heritage of Menifee. His TDs were 3, 10 and 65 yards as he finished with 188 yards on just 18 carries.

Mike Davis (Buena, Ventura): Scampered for 242 yards on 26 rushes, including TDs of 58, 40 and four yards in a 35-10 win over San Marcos of Santa Barbara.

Duke DeLancelotti (San Clemente): Although the Tritons fell to Mission Viejo, 42-37, DeLancelotti kept San Clemente close by completing 20 of 40 passes for 321 yards and three TDs.

Adrian Diaz (Franklin, Los Angeles): Diaz has helped the Panthers take control of the Northern League race by passing for 310 yards during a 41-20 victory over Belmont of Los Angeles. Diaz completed 17 of 27 passes with two touchdowns and helped Franklin up its record to 6-2  and 3-0 in league play.  

Jonathon Diaz, Antoine Arnold & Mitch Glasmann (Chaparral, Temecula): Glasmann completed 13 of 17 passes for 202 yards and three TDs, all to Arnold, a sophomore who had seven receptions for 129 yards in a 56-14 win over Temescal Canyon of Lake Elsinore. Diaz was the sparkplug for the state-ranked Pumas, scoring four rushing touchdowns, including a 29-yard interception return that opened up the floodgates in what was a close game in the first quarter.

Donovan Dodd (Desert Christian, Lancaster): Before the Mercy Rule stoppe the 8-man game in the fourth quarter of a 61-12 victory, Dodd rushed for 320 yards on 15 carries, scoring seven touchdowns.

Nico Dumont (Marin Catholic, Kentfield): A driving rainstorm and blustery winds the entire game didn't bother the 6-foot, 205-pound running back/free safety in a 35-6 win on the road at Tamalpais in Mill Valley. The senior, who is getting looks from several mid-size D1 schools and reigning league MVP, rushed 15 times for 203 yards and three touchdowns on runs of 23, 46 and 89 yards.
 
Chris Eke (Gunderson, San Jose): The biggest rushing performance in Northern California last week came from a guy with the shortest last name. In a 49-38 victory over cross-town rival Branham, Eke plowed his way for 301 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries. He now has 1,169 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.
 
Daniel Enriquez (Whittier): Rushed for 287 yards and four touchdowns as Whittier defeated Pioneer of Norwalk, 41-32, to win their first Del Rio League contest of the season.  

Joe Ferguson & Jeff Badger (Cardinal Newman, Santa Rosa): A big reason the Cardinals are 8-0 and in control of their own destiny is because of the play of this running back/linebacker duo. Their impact was at its fullest in a 42-7 victory over a Rancho Cotate team that was supposed to be a test for Newman and its ability to stop the run. On offense the two ran roughshod over the Ranch, and on defense they neutralized the Cougars' 285-pound average line by shooting the gaps as the ball was snapped. Ferguson scored the team's first TD on a 30-yard screen pass and also scored on a 93-yard kickoff return and a 7-yard run. He also had 12 tackles from his linebacker position with two for losses. Backfield mate Badger rushed for 90 yards and one TD and also had a 32-yard interception return for a score. Badger also recorded a game-high 14 tackles with three for loss.
 
Steve Filippi & Jake Powers (Sonoma Valley): Filippi was projected to be one of the top receivers in the Redwood Empire and although it's been a slightly disappointing season with the Dragons at 3-5, he came up big in a 28-21 upset of visiting Petaluma. With quarterback Powers throwing for 304 yards on 15-of-22 passing, Filippi pulled in 10 of the balls for 231 yards and both of Powers' touchdown passes.
 
Ernesto Flores, Dakota Salazar, Evan Marland & Dalton Stadelman (Westwood): They really spread the ball around up there just east of Lake Almanor, but they keep it all on the ground and it showed last week in an offensive explosion. Flores, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound running back had a career game. Together with his mate's performances in a 78-32 victory over Big Valley (Bieber), it gets this tiny Lassen County community, and the Lumberjacks with their 8-0 record, on the map. Flores bulled his way to 277 yards on 15 carries with five touchdowns. Salazar ran for 152 yards and scored twice; Marland rushed to paydirt twice and Stadelman had a 59-yard touchdown. On the season the Lumberjacks as a team have rushed for 3,385 yards with a 9.81 yards per carry average. Flores leads the way with 948 yards and 13 touchdowns; Salazar has 640 yards and four scores; Marland has 583 yards and 12 TDs; and Stadelman has rushed for 432 yards with nine touchdowns and passed for 967 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Tate Forcier (Scripps Ranch, San Diego): The Michigan-bound quarterback faced a defense that forced Scripps Ranch to run the ball, and Forcier responded with 455 total yards of offense in a 52-40 win. Forcier rushed for 218 yards with touchdown runs of 65 and 56 yards. He also completed 13-of-18
passes for 237 yards. All of Scripps' TDs came on the ground.

Andrew Frisina (Rolling Hills Prep, San Pedro): Was all over the field during a 28-6 victory over Price of Los Angeles. He picked off a pass and returned it for a touchdown when price tried a fake punt and he also scored once on the ground during this eight-man Harbor League content. On defense, he recovered a fumble and mad 16 tackles to lead the way.      

Aaron Garbutt (Westminster): Rushed for 216 yards and four TDs while passing for a fifth in a 33-28 victory over Segerstrom.

Zack Graves (Whitney, Rocklin): The reported rushing leader in the Sac-Joaquin Section with 1,591 yards not only had another huge game running the ball, but had a big impact in other areas as well. In a 49-0 whitewashing of El Dorado of Placerville, the 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior went over 200-yards rushing for the third time this season with 255 yards on 20 carries and three touchdowns. He added a 14-yard touchdown pass, his fifth TD pass of the season. He's also hit pay dirt 22 times on the ground to give him 28 total touchdowns. We almost forgot to tell you, he also blocked a punt against El Dorado.

Zach Griffith & Brandon Dupre (Foothill, Tustin): By completing 16 of 26 passes for 304 yards, Griffith guided Foothill past Trabuco Hills of Mission Viejo, 20-15. Dupre had 147 of those yards and a TD reception.

James Guerrero (Tulare): Led unbeaten team past Delano in a East Yosemite League game, 54-16, by throwing for five touchdowns on just six of seven attempts. Guerrero's TDs covered 64, 26, 20, 29,  and 58 yards. He had 227 passing yards in all.

Tommy Hansen (Westview, San Diego): Hansen threw for 388 yards, including the game-winning touchdown with two seconds to play to edge Rancho Bernardo, 31-28. Hansen completed 24-of-43 passes with four touchdowns and no interceptions. His four touchdown passes measured 57, 27 56 and 27 yards.

Rashon Harper (El Camino Real, Woodland Hills): In only 19 carries, Harper galloped for 288 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 62-38 victory over Granada Hills. Harper gained 258 of his rushing yards in the first half and scored on runs of 61, 67, 35 and one yard.   

Carlos Hernandez (Orange Cove): Set a school record by rushing for 226 yards on only 10 carries, and he also scored five touchdowns against Kings Christian of Lemoore. Orange Cove won the game, 67-18.

Anthony Herrera (Wilcox, Santa Clara): The Chargers have pinned a couple of losses on top Bay Area teams like Milpitas and Palo Alto and this junior running back has been a big reason why. Last week in a 42-21 victory over Mountain View of St. Francis, he rushed for 233 yards and scored all six of
the team's touchdowns.

Evan Houschka (Capistrano Valley Christian, San Juan Capistrano): Rolled up 225 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns in a 34-19 loss to Sage Hill of Newport Beach.

Donny Huckins & Brad Underwood (Greenville): After a two week hiatus, Huckins, the Northern Section's reported rushing leader, is back in this week's stat stars feature. The senior tailback from just south of Lake Almanor ran for 279 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries, in a 50-7 victory over Liberty Christian of Redding. He now has an even 1,700 yards this season and 15 touchdowns. Underwood, an undersized center on offense and middle linebacker on defense, is reportedly leading the Northern Section with 156 tackles. Last week against Liberty Christian he had 17 tackles and a sack. The week before, in a win over Dunsmuir, he recorded a season-high 31 tackles. Besides his tackles total, Underwood has four sacks, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt this season.

Jaron Hytche (Mater Dei, Santa Ana): Rushed for 227 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 57-28 Trinity League victory over Santa Margarita. Teammate Matt Barkley added 228 yards and a pair of TDs passing for the current first place team in the league standings which will need more big games from Hytche to end up league champs.

Stepfton Jefferson (El Diamante, Visalia): Rushed for 226 yards on 31 carries and scored four touchdowns against Redwood in leading the Miners to a 48-15 win in a West Yosemite League game.

Jemeryn Jenkins (Silverado, Victorville): Had a whopping 475 total yards, accounting for five touchdowns, but his team still fell to Burroughs of Ridgecrest, 35-33. Jenkins passed for 297 yards and ran for 178 more.

Jamie Jensen & Dante Fullard (Gilroy): After a 34-28 victory on the road in Salinas against Palma, the Mustangs are 8-0, No. 4 in this week's CalHiSports.com CIF North Open Division rankings. Generally considered the best Gilroy team ever, this duo has certainly had a lot to do with the club's lofty status so far this season. Against Palma, Jensen, the Central Coast Section reported passing leader, didn't start the game for undisclosed reasons. He came in midway through the second quarter with Palma leading 14-0 and proceeded to torch the Chieftains, passing for 434 yards on 26 of 37 passes with three touchdowns. Jensen's favorite target was Fullard, who had 11 catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Fullard also rushed for a pair of scores.
 
Lurrell Johnson (Lindhurst, Olivehurst): We don't know what they're feeding those boys north of the state capitol and just south of the twin cities of Marysville and Yuba City, but its working for Johnson, who makes his third straight appearance here. This past Friday, he did some trick or treating at the expense of visiting Encina of Sacramento. In a 55-18 shellacking, the 5-6, 175-pound tailback rushed for 253 yards and four touchdowns on a mere 13 carries. He now has 1,582 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season.
 
Marshall Jones & Nick Montana (Oaks Christian, Westlake Village): Combined for 357 yards in a 54-0 win over Oak Park of Agoura Hills. Montana completed 10 of 17 for 237 yards and three TDs passing while Jones had five TDs that included four rushing (12 for 120 yards) and one pass from the son of you know who.

Jamie Jordan (Rio Mesa, Oxnard): Crushed a 52-yard field goal, but it would be the only points for the Spartans in a 42-3 loss to Oxnard.

Daniel Joseph (San Dimas): Rushed for 302 yards and four TDs while adding a fifth score on a reception in the Saints' 56-46 win over Baldwin Park.

Joey Levine (Clayton Valley, Concord): Led the unbeaten Eagles to a 19-0 win over College Park of Pleasant Hill by completing 11 of 17 passes for 194 yards, including a 53-yard TD to Nick Cole. Levine also stars at linebacker and in the same game had five tackles with 2.5 sacks. Cole, a free safety, added nine tackles.

Cameron Loeffler (Exeter): Scored five touchdowns against Coalinga on runs of 1, 14, 1, 5, 51 yards, which gave him 35 for the season, a total that leads the Central Section. He also carried the ball 25 times for  200 yards in the Central Sierra League game won by Exeter, 42-14.

Malcolm Marable (Alemany, West Hills): Churned for 244 yards and scored four times in a 37-17 victory over Chaminade of Mission Hills. Three of his scores measured 25 yards or longer with one from 80 and another from 67 yards out.     

Taylor Martinez (Centennial, Corona): Accounted for 375 yards in a 42-19 win over J.W. North of Riverside. Martinez completed 16 of 23 for 279 yards and three TDs and rushed for another 94 on nine carries. UCLA Ricky Marvray added seven pass receptions for 148 yards for the state's No. 2 ranked club.

Marquis Miller (Manteca): A junior to watch for next season, Miller ripped off a 77-yard scoring run, added another TD on a one-yard run and ended up with 238 yards on 21 carries in a game against Oakdale. It all went for naught, though, as Oakdale prevailed, 31-14, and ended any hopes for Manteca to earn a spot in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Div. IV playoffs.

Mason Mills (Coronado): The senior quarterback completed 14 of 20 passes for 375 yards in a 43-10 Central League win over Kearny of San Diego. He threw four touchdown passes without an interception. His scoring tosses measured 49, 55, 8 and 20 yards.

Joey Miranda (Glendale): Picked off two passes on defense and returned a kickoff 65 yards for a score during the Nitros' 28-12 victory over Glendale in Pacific League play.    

Stanley Moody (Tomales): We usually don't put a running back in Stat Stars when he only goes for 108 yards and one touchdown as Moody did in a 12-0 victory over Anderson Valley. We decided to include Coach Leon Feliciano's linchpin to his power running attack after missing Moody three weeks ago when he ran for 251 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Calistoga. We also missed him last week when he ran for 209 yards and one score in a half's game work against Potter Valley in a 52-0 romp.

D.J. Morgan (Taft, Woodland Hills): Standout junior back headed to USC rushed for 227 yards and scored five touchdowns in a 57-14 victory over Chatsworth. QB Bam Goodall also was quite effective, completing 11 of 13 passes for 238 yards. The Toreadors' faithful hopes the duo can perform in similar fashion when they close out the regular season with a West Valley League showdown against defending L.A. City Section champion Birmingham of Lake Balboa.   

Johnny Murayami (St. Margaret's, San Juan Capistrano): Scored seven TDs and just missed eight in 70-6 win over Brethren Christian. Murayami scored on runs of 8, 4, 3, 7, 10 and 2 yards plus a 55-yard reception from David Mothander. He was pushed out of bounds at the 2-yard line on another run. Mothander passed for 248 yards and Murayami definitely made the most of his 152 rushing yards.

Tyler Musco (Westview, San Diego): Musco caught 10 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner with two seconds to play in the Wolverines' 31-28 win over Rancho Bernardo. Musco's scores were from 57, 56 and 27 yards out.

Byron Newman (Golden Valley, Bakersfield): Set a school record by running for 303 yards on 35 carries and scored three touchdowns against Bakersfield in a Southeast Yosemite League game. Golden Valley won, 23-14.

Trevor Niemann (Chadwick, Palos Verdes Peninsula): He stepped up for the Dolphins in the fourth quarter of their 10-6 Prep League victory over Pasadena Poly. He intercepted two passes during the final period of play and Niemann, who usually line up at receiver on offense, also scored on a quarterback keeper to account for the game's only touchdown.     

Kevin Noall (Yuba City): Did everything he could but it wasn't enough as the Honkers went down. He caught six passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns and had an interception in Yuba City's 37-32 loss to Inderkum.
 
Brett Nottingham (Monte Vista, Danville): Very few signal callers can stretch the De La Salle secondary for over 300-yards passing, but this junior, fast becoming one of the hottest quarterback prospects in California, did just that, albeit in a 45-35 loss. In defeat, Nottingham completed 28 of 46 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns but he was also intercepted twice.

Jacob Olivas (Covina): Played a great all-around game in Covina's 41-34 come-from-behind victory over Pomona at Covina District Field. He gave the fans a nice homecoming treat by rushing for 236 yards, completing nine of 16 passes for 170 yards and accounting for six touchdowns. He score don runs of 67, 33, 54 and 12 yards and threw touchdown passes of 20 and 75 yards.  

Daniel Owen (L.A. Baptist, North Hills): Accounted for six touchdowns during a 49-27 victory over Valley Christian of Cerritos. He scored on a two-yard touchdown run and threw for a whopping 486 yards and five touchdowns in the shoot-out victory. His touchdown tosses measured 54, 53, 25, 9 and 83 yards.

Terry Paradez (Bonita, La Verne): Tossed five touchdown passes, all in the first half, as Bonita defeated host Wilson of Hacienda Heights, 54-14.

Randy Person (Cate, Carpinteria): Scored six touchdowns in leading the Rams to a 54-38 shoot-out victory over Montclair Prep of Van Nuys in 8-man football action.

Cameron Phillips (Moorpark): Collected four sacks to help the Musketeers stymie normally high-scoring Agoura, 17-6.

Brett Pierce & Charlie James (Brentwood, Los Angeles): In a 50-7 victory over winless Marshall of Pasadena, Pierce picked off his eighth pass of the season while James booted his 11 field goal of the season. His three-pointer came from 51-yards out to help Brentwood move to 7-1 on the year and broke the school record set by Jimmy Rotstein, now at UCLA.

Donnay Ragland (Artesia, Lakewood): Accounted for 325 yards during a 23-17 overtime victory over Norwalk. Ragland crossed the goal line from 10 yards out to clinch the game in overtime as he carried the ball 11 times for 176 yards and scored two touchdowns. He also completed eight of 15 passes for 149 yards with another touchdown.      

Bradley Randle & Hayden Clegg (Vista Murrieta, Murrieta): The duo combined for 424 yards as Randle gained 195 rushing and scored three TDs while Clegg passed for 229 and two more six-pointers in a 42-20 win over Temecula Valley.

Rashaad Reynolds (San Fernando): Three-year standout didn't have the greatest individual numbers, but he surpassed a significant career milestone by breaking the schools total yardage record set by Anthony Davis between 1968-1970. He gained 75 yards on only four rushing attempts and passed for 153 yards in a 32-14 victory over Reseda to give him 5,827 yards, which broke Davis' old mark of 5,675 yards. Davis, who like Reynolds played quarterback in high school, went on to become a two-time all-american RB at USC. Reynolds, who is also the first San Fernando QB to have three 1,000 yard seasons and is 323 yards from the school's all-time passing mark, will likely play defense in college. He helped San Fernando up its record to 3-0 in league play by picking off his third pass of the season.        

Ryan Sakowski, Victor Ojeda & Mat Bocci (Sacred Heart Prep, Atherton): Quarterback Sakowski was a perfect 9-for-9 passing for 162 yard, Ojeda rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and Bocci scored three times on the ground in a 49-28 road victory over Carlmont of Belmont that clinches the outright title in the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean-B division. This week the team amassed 534 yards of total offense after gaining 605 two weeks ago in a win against Half Moon Bay.
 
Andy Salcido (Baldwin Park): Had a monster night, completing 24 of 45 passes for 429 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for a TD, but it wasn't enough in a wild 56-46 loss to San Dimas. Jack Joaquin caught eight passes for 155 yards and Christian Lazaro added seven for 144 yards and three TDs.

Eddy Sihavong (Mission Hills, San Marcos): Sihavong needed only 14 carries to rush for 237 yards in the Grizzlies' 42-29 win over San Pasqual in an Avocado League game.

Michael Spanos (Lincoln, Stockton): The grandson of longtime San Diego Chargers' owner Alex Spanos (who lives within walking distance of the Lincoln stadium) had his best game of the season with 241 yards rushing on 19 carries in a 28-17 victory over Lodi. Spanos scored once on a 57-yard run and set up a late game-clinching touchdown with a 69-yard scamper.

Daimion Stafford (Norco): Pulled in three interceptions, part of five by the Cougars, in a 28-13 win over Santiago of Corona.

Eric Stern (California, Whittier): In Cal-Hi's 21-20 loss to St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs, Stern booted a 57-yard field goal, the longest reported in Southern California football so far this season.

Ryan Stillwell (Leigh, San Jose): The No. 2 reported passer in the Central Cost Section did his part but the Longhorns lost 42-21 to state-ranked cross-town Oak Grove. Against the Eagles the 6-foot, 190-pound senior was 24-of-42 for 343 yards and three touchdowns. For the season, Stilwell now has passed for 2,109 yards with 20 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

DeAnthony Thomas (Crenshaw, Los Angeles): Affectionately known as the "Black Mamba" by Cougars' fans, this sophomore speedster has the crowd on its feet when he returned the opening kickoff against league rival Dorsey 85 yards for a score. He also had a 32-yard interception for a score to help the Cougars take control of the Coliseum league with a 34-0 victory over the Dons. Thomas, who got his nickname for being quite slippery out on the field, who qualified for the CIF state meet in the 100 and 200 meter dash as a freshman, and used that speed to return another interception against Dorsey that was nullified by penalty.  

Pete Thomas (Valhalla, El Cajon): The junior quarterback with a scholarship offer from Boston College passed and kicked his team to a 28-3 win over Steele Canyon. He completed 17-of-31 passes for 256 yards. His field goals were from 33, 26, 22 and 21 yards out.

Edwin Tillman (Culver City): Etched himself in our state record book with a 97-yard punt return for a score, which also set a school record. He topped his night off by hauling in a 66-yard touchdown pass from Marquel Carter that gave the Centaurs a 35-28 come-from-behind victory over Santa Monica.  

Gabriel Umoh (Morningside, Inglewood): Rushed for 311 yards and scored three touchdowns on 20 carries to lift The Side to a 31-14 victory over Hawthorne.    

Ryan Ur (Laguna Hills): His two interceptions led to touchdowns in a 24-0 win over Beckman of Irvine. He has five picks so far this season.

John Uribe & Roberto Nelson (Santa Barbara): Uribe passed for 275 yards, completing 23 of 52 passes, with three TDs while Nelson was on the receiving end six times for 127 yards and two TDs. The Dons, however, were no match for St. Bonaventure of Ventura, losing 51-21.

John White (South Torrance): This stat star regular had another strong game, gaining 228 yards and scoring three touchdowns during a 44-20 victory over Centennial of Compton in Pioneer League play. White hopes to have another stellar performance this week when the Spartans take on 8-0 North Torrance this week.    

Jonathan Williams (Kennedy, Granada Hills): Sophomore shattered the school's single-game rushing mark by galloping for 334 yards on 41 carries during a 39-6 victory over Monroe of Sepulveda. He scored three touchdowns and broke the rushing yardage mark previously held by Edwin Jones, who gained 279 yards in a win over Cleveland of Reseda in 1986. Ironically, current Kennedy head coach Dion Lambert played with Jones and the two-way star helped the Golden Cougars advance to the L.A. City Section semifinals that season, where they lost to state and national No. 1 Banning of Wilmington. 

Desarte Yarnway (Sacred Heart Cathedral): Cal-committed senior tailback turned in one of the season's outstanding performances in his team's 28-24 upset on the road at Valley Christian of San Jose. In a win that keeps the Irish tied for the WCAL lead and what Coach John Lee told the San Francisco Chronicle was "the biggest win in the history of the program, Yarnway out dueled Valley Christian's Cameron Marshall (155 yards) by rushing 33 times for 202 yards and four touchdowns. Included was the game-winning 15-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
