Will Acromite (San Juan Hills, San Juan Capistrano): He was more than mighty in leading the Stallions to a 49-42 win over Corona del Mar of Newport Beach with 234 yards passing and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 158 yards and another score.

Jerry Alvarez (Watsonville): The senior quarterback showed his being near the top of the CCS leader board as a dual threat quarterback are legit after he led the Wildcats to a 40-37 victory over a Seaside team that had tied Palma of Salinas. He only passed for 127 yards, but had three TDs. Alvarez also rushed for 107 yards and one TD, the game winner. On the season he's passed for 2,377 yards and 23 TDs and rushed for 477 yards and four scores.

Michael Alexander (La Salle, Pasadena): Not only did he rush for 314 yards and five touchdowns, but he also returned a punt 94 yards for six points in a 45-35 win over Cantwell Sacred Heart of Montebello.

Jamil Austin (Colony, Ontario): He wasted no time in scoring twice in the opening quarter of play for the 8-1 Titans in a 42-10 victory over Don Lugo of Chino. Austin later added a third score and ended with 251 yards rushing.

DeShawn Beck (Jordan, Los Angeles): Do-it-all performer ended his regular season with a bang as the Bulldogs defeated Huntington Park, 36-22. He rushed for 164 yards on 14 carries, completed four of eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns and even caught a pass for 14 yards. He contributed another 34 yards on kick returns.

Bryan Bennett (Crespi, Encino): The hard-lucked Celts came into last Friday's contest sporting a .500 record, but a victory over undefeated and state-ranked Bishop Amat in a Serra League showdown wasn't all that shocking. Especially when the athletic Bennett performed as he did in Crespi's 38-25 win. He shredded the Amat secondary to the tune of 342 yards and three touchdowns on 22 of 30 pass attempts.

Brendon Bigelow (Central, Fresno): In a 49-14 win over Clovis, Bigelow, who has lightning speed to burn, scored a career-high five touchdowns. He carried the ball only six times for 221 yards, but scored on runs of 67, 56, 5 and 91 yards and had two receptions for 77 yards, one for a 69-yard TD.

Alex Bishop (Valencia): The state-ranked Vikings have a 9-0 won-loss record behind an explosive offense led by this junior quarterback. In a 49-0 victory over Saugus that clinched a piece of the Foothill League title, Bishop completed 16 of 25 passes for 422 yards and three scores. Even more impressive than his single-game yardage total is his seasonal passing percentage. After nine games, the junior signal-caller has completed 126 of 169 passes for 2,390 yards. His completion percentage is a razor-like 74.6 percent and his percentage actually dropped this past week!

Tyler Bray (Kingsburg): The University of Tennessee commit continues to have great Friday nights, as he passed for five touchdowns to five different receivers, going 15 of 27 for 297 yards, in a 50-13 win over Exeter in a Central Sequoia League game.

Kendall Brock (Clovis West, Fresno): One of the bright spots all season for Clovis West, the junior back ran for a career highs of 290 yards on 17 carries and scored five touchdowns (28, 14, 88, 44, 5) in a 48-0 win over Madera in a Tri-River Athletic Conference game.

Nick Bueno (Monrovia): He was "Muy Bueno" in Monrovia's 43-7 victory over La Canada as he accounted for five touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Both of his passing scores came from 40 yards out and his runs came on jaunts of 17, 23 and 81 yards.

Jessie Callier (Warren, Downey): Just might go down as the best offensive back in school history if he can keep these performances up and lead the Bears on a deep run in the CIFSS Western Division playoffs. In a San Gabriel Valley League showdown with Gahr of Cerritos, Callier led the way in a nip-and-tuck 35-31 victory. In the first half alone, he rushed for 187 yards and 26 carries and scored four touchdowns. His final scoring jaunt, a serpentine 65-yarder, was the score Warren would need to hold off the pass-happy Gladiators. He finished the game with 297 yards and 44 carries while Gahr QB Casey Nielsen completed 32 of 54 passes for 376 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. On the season, Nielsen has now passed for 3,452 yards and 34 touchdowns. Callier also has 34 total touchdowns scored.

Marquel Carter (Culver City): Stat stars regular was at it again, but against hapless Hawthorne, it was not hard to predict a big game for Carter. He passed for 179 yards and two scored and rushed for 122 yards and four more scores to lead the 8-1 Centaurs to a 49-0 victory. Making matters worse is that this occurred at Hawthorne's homecoming. We remember the days some 20 years ago when Hawthorne had a speedy quarterback by the name of Curtis Conway that would put up those types of numbers, but the 2000s have been tough for Hawthorne. Perhaps they can turn it around in the decade to come.

Corey Cole (Fillmore): Led the Flashes to their first solo Frontier League championship since 1977 as he rushed for four touchdowns, passed for a touchdown and returned a kickoff for a score in a 56-38 win over Grace Brethren of Simi Valley.

Zach Collins (Royal, Simi Valley): Passed for 333 yards, but unfortunately four interceptions did not help Royal's cause in an eventual 35-14 setback to Thousand Oaks.

Deontae Cooper (Citrus Hill, Perris): Mr. Football State Player of the Year candidate had another monster outing last Friday as Citrus Hill won its current state-leading 37th straight game by 49-36 against San Jacinto. Cooper finished with 53 carries for 388 yards and four TDs as well as 10 tackles on defense. According to assistant coach Michael Prosser, Cooper played every snap on offense and defense as well as doing all returns for special teams.

Danny Diekroeger & Clay Robbins (Menlo School, Atherton):
The Stanford-bound baseball player and Knights quarterback Diekroeger completed 23 of 35 passes for 374 yards and three TDs, with 10 of the passes and two of the TD's to Robbins for 227 yards receiving in a 42-35 win over Carlmont-Belmont. On the season, Diekroeger, the No. 4 reported passer in the state, has 2,870 yards and 25 touchdowns with three more TDs rushing. Robbins has 63 catches for 1,288 yards and nine scores.

Mike Frank (Rancho Alamitos, Garden Grove): The Vaqueros scored over 40 points for the second week on the row, as Frank passed for 350 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-15 road win against Bolsa Grande.

Matt Fregoso (Rosemead): His four touchdown runs alone totaled 157 yards against El Monte, while he also added another trip to the end zone on a 78-yard punt return in Rosemead's 52-20 victory.

Donald Gandy (Rosemont, Sacramento): He twice had dandy runs of over 80 yards and rushed for 301 yards and two touchdowns in a 44-0 victory over Kennedy of Sacramento. Gandy also caught a touchdown pass.

Jose Garcia (Pacifica, Oxnard): His running of the ball last Friday night in a 48-23 win over Channel Islands helped keep the Tritons' playoff hopes alive, as Garcia rushed for 232 yards on 22 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Miles Godfrey (Orange Glen, Escondido): In a game that featured 1,277 yards of total offense, it was Godfrey who accounted for the most as he passed for 339 yards and five touchdowns but was intercepted in the end zone in the final seconds of a 60-56 loss to San Marcos. The 56 points scored in defeat will find a spot in our ESPN RISE CalHiSports.com Record Book & Almanac tied for the second most points scored in a losing effort.

Jordan Grubbs (Justin-Siena, Napa): The senior returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, then caught a 75-yard scoring pass from Eddie Aguayo, to bring the Braves back from a 22-13 deficit to beat Redwood of Larkspur, 33-20, and keep their playoff hopes alive. In the last minutes, Grubbs, who caught four passes in the game for 144 yards, also forced a fumble and intercepted a pass to ice the win.

Anthony Hall (Sierra, Manteca): Hall did a little bit of everything in the huge 44-42 win at Oakdale as he caught four passes, returned an interception 93 yards for a touchdown, and kicked field goals of 40, 45, and 50 yards. The two-point created a mess at the top of the Valley Oak League standings. Sierra fans will be hoping Oakdale bounces back and beats Sonora so their team's head-to-head win will carry more significance.

Anthony Herrera (Wilcox): He didn't fare very well in this past week's loss to Los Gatos, but we'll give Herrera some consolation and recognize we forgot him two week's ago when he ran for 294 yards and four TDs in the Chargers win over Milpitas.

James Ingram (Modesto): He may not be running for a potential Heisman Award like Mark Ingram at Alabama, but Ingram did lead his team to a win last Friday night as he rushed for 232 yards and two touchdowns while also catching a 52-yard touchdown toss in a 65-28 win against Downey of Modesto.

Alfonso Jackson (Bakersfield):
Four-year varsity performer scored a career high five touchdowns in a 61-15 shellacking of East Bakersfield in the Southeast Yosemite League. It was Bakersfield's 702nd win. On October 23,, the Drillers beat Foothill, 40-14, for their 700th reported all-time win (including rugby when it was viewed as a substitute for football).

Kevin Laird (Mission Prep, San Luis Obispo):
The grandson of former Central Section Commissioner Jerry Laird scored touchdowns on a 71-yard run and on a 45-yard interception for another touchdown in a 42-0 win over Kings Christian. The latest interception return TD tied a Central Section record with three in one season, according to section historian Bob Barnett. Kevin also threw two TD passes as the Royals clinched the East Sierra League championship.

Jason Lee & Javon Kelly (Downey, Modesto): Lee completed 34 of 54 passes for 382 yards and two touchdowns, with 17 of those receptions going to Kelly for 197 yards and three scores, but it wasn't enough to prevent Downey's seventh loss of the year by a 65-28 margin to Modesto.

Max Leffler (Grace Brethren, Simi Valley): He completed 24 passes for 297 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 156 yards and five touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to get the victory as the Lancers fell to Fillmore, 56-38.

Brendan Manion (Archbishop Mitty, San Jose) & Matt Vinal (Serra, San Mateo): It's very rare we put two players from different teams together, but it isn't often two boys have the exact same stats in a game. What's even more ironic is the stats are on defense and in multiple categories. The one difference is Manion's team came out on top in a 20-7 road victory, but here he shares the honor with Vidal after each had three sacks, two tackles for loss and 11 total tackles. For Manion, the sacks give him 12 this season.

Byron Marshall (Valley Christian, San Jose): Talk about a sophomore to watch. Marshall, who played as a freshman on the varsity last year alongside older brother Cameron (now starting as a true freshman at Arizona State), is already looking like one of the top sophomores anywhere. In a 54-14 win last week against Archbishop Riordan of San Francisco, Marshall had four carries for 119 yards and two TDs, scored on a 81-yard pass play and scored on a 86-yard kickoff return. He had more than 200 all-purpose yards in his two previous games as well. In the last three weeks has scored 10 touchdowns.

Jeff Mathews (Camarillo): He has been named the ESPN RISE West Region Player of the Week and will be featured on this site on Friday after passing for six touchdowns and a CIF Southern Section record 594 yards in a 69-20 win over Hueneme of Oxnard.

Joshua McCain (Piedmont Hills, San Jose): The 6-2, 180-pound senior double threat quarterback single-handedly lit up host San Jose Santa Teresa in a 43-25 victory, passing for 325 yards and four TDs and rushing for 86 additional yards. He also returned a couple of punts and wisely fair caught two others.

James McConico (Compton): A few weeks ago, McConico suffered a freak injury when he suffered a six-inch cut on his forearm. Healthy again, McConico returned to form with 256 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 23 carries in a 42-26 victory over Millikan of Long Beach. Compton will try to knock Long Beach Poly out of the playoffs for the first time in 30 years with a victory this week and the Tarbabes need a big game from McConico if its going to happen.

Adam McCurley (Washington, Easton):
He continues to have an outstanding senior year, as he passed for 306 yards and four touchdowns while going 25 of 37 in a 42-14 win against Dos Palos. Junior WR Josh Williams also caught nine passes for 126 yards and two scores for the Panthers, who wrapped up the North Sequoia League title.

Tanner Mendonca (Mt. Whitney, Visalia): His strong senior season continued with four touchdown passes on 22 of 36 for 317 yards in a non-league game against Cesar Chavez of Delano. The Pioneers won, 34-15, with three of the TD passes going to standout Titus Grayson.

Akeelie Muhammad (Cypress): He ran for more than double the century mark and found himself often in the end zone during the Centurions' 33-20 win over Pacifica of Garden Grove. Muhammad rushed for 247 yards and scored five touchdowns.

Geoffrey Norwood (Crenshaw, Los Angeles): Emerged as one of the top players for the nationally-ranked Cougars, who are getting contributions from a plethora of different talented players in their quest for city and state titles. Norwood has done a fine job running the ball while returning state sophomore of the year De'Anthony Thomas has concentrated more of defense while nursing an ankle sprain throughout the regular season. In last week's 44-7 victory over archrival Dorsey, Norwood churned out 151 yards and two scores on 14 carries. He also had an interception and helped a defensive charge, led by linebackers Hayes Pullard, Ronald Stovall and lineman James Brock, which limited the Dons to a minus 51 yards of total offense.

Brett Nottingham (Monte Vista, Danville): The No. 3 reported passer in the state completed 18 of 30 passes for 310 yards and three TDs, two to the state's leading receiver Bryce McGovern, who had seven catches for 137 yards in a 45-24 win over California.

Elijhaa Penny (Norwalk):
Rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns in Norwalk's 61-33 Suburban League victory over Artesia of Lakewood.

Jordan Perkins (Lodi): One of the top junior running backs in the Sac-Joaquin Section, Perkins racked up 302 yards on 29 carries and reached the end zone four times as the Flames burned Chavez of Stockton, 55-34. Perkins scored three times in the first quarter alone, one on a 73-yard burst.

Miles Rankin (Montclair Prep, Van Nuys): Junior back-up filled in for an injured starter and promptly rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-18 victory over Camp Kilpatrick of Malibu.

Superiorr Reid (Arlington, Riverside): He was quite superior against La Sierra of Riverside, as he rushed for 228 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-6 win.

C.J. Reyes (Hart, Newhall): What would a California prep football season be without a Hart quarterback making this stat stars feature? Although the Indians are not the state power they were 10 years ago, they can still give any team a tough game and with Reyes passing for 322 yards, Hart was able to record a 43-26 come-from-behind victory over West Ranch of Valencia. His main target was Ty MacArthur, who finished with seven receptions for 179 yards and two scores. Even more important than the numbers, Hart clinched a playoff berth for the 29th consecutive season, which only three other programs in state history have been able to accomplish.

Ian Rhodes (Granite Bay): Brendan Keeney found the end zone all night long, as four of his eight receptions went for touchdowns in a 51-14 win over Oakmont of Roseville.

David Richards (Palmdale): Two-way stalwart had another big game to help the Falcons clinch at least a share of their eighth straight Golden League title. He caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from QB Joshua Shaw and finished with 124 yards on five receptions. On defense, he intercepted two fourth quarter passes, including one he returned 43 yards for a score.

Isaac Richards (St. Mary's, Berkeley): Playing in only his second game of the season, the junior running back rushed for 219 yards and three TDs in a 48-18 win over Albany. He also ran for three two-point conversions.

Nick Richardson (Los Alamitos): Kept pace for a CIFSS Pac-Five playoff berth with a 241-yard rushing performance from Richardson in a 21-19 victory over Esperanza of Anaheim.

Damario Robertson (St. Elizabeth, Oakland):
The school may be have a tiny enrollment but this 5-8, 195-pound running back put up some huge numbers last week, rushing for 224 yards and three TDs in a 38-21 win over San Jose Harker.

Kaller Roemer (Huntington Beach): He was the go-to guy in the passing game as he had 12 receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown, but the Oilers still were unable to escape a 31-22 home loss to El Toro.

Axel Sanchez (Orange): Sanchez peeled off Ocean View defenders all game long as he rushed for 315 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-21 win by the Panthers. It was just the third win of the season for Orange.

Myles Sherman (Hercules): The latest player to get fat on hapless Richmond De Anza is the Titans quarterback, who threw for two touchdowns and rushed for 162 yards and three more trips to pay dirt a 41-0 victory, Hercules' first in Alameda Contra Costa League play.

Aaron Sing (El Diamante, Visalia): His tune was sweet as he led the Miners to a 48-20 win over Hanford that gave them the West Yosemite League Championship . Sing scored four touchdowns (23, 9, 68, 54) on 33 carries and piled up 288 yards.

Brennan Smith (St. Margaret's, Rancho SM): A junior QB, Smith completed 7 of 10 passes for 244 yards and four TDs and also rushed eight times for 71 yards and two more scores as the Tartans romped past Brethren Christian of Huntington Beach, 62-14. Smith also is the St. Margaret's kicker and made eight PATs in the same game.

Deron Smith (Alemany, Mission Hills): Sophomore who played at La Canada St. Francis as a freshman, came up big in this Mission League showdown with two interceptions. One of them came with 30 seconds remaining to help Alemany preserve its 13-7 victory. Smith's first pick was nearly as important, as he picked off a ball in the end zone as St. Francis had drove 85 yards downfield before its 19-play drive was snuffed out. Smith also had a big pass break-up in the fourth quarter.

Kruger Story (Heritage, Brentwood): The story in the Patriots' 32-6 triumph over Oakley Freedom was Story, and it was not a fable but in fact the real deal. The junior running back rushed for 221 yards, scored four touchdowns, including a 78-yard run, and registered six tackles and recovered a fumble in the victory.

Alex Swigert (Corona del Mar, Newport Beach): Did all he could to prevent the Sea Kings from suffering a fourth straight loss by rushing for 295 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough as they fell, 49-42, to San Juan Hills.

Evan Taylor (Shasta, Redding): Has had far fewer carries this year than last, but when called upon Taylor has come up big, like last week against Chico as he rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-20 win to keep the Wolves' playoff hopes alive.

Isaac Valdez (San Gabriel): Although his team ended up losing to Schurr of Montebello, Valdez accounted for 333 yards in the 38-30 defeat. He completed 13 of 22 passes for 190 yards and a score. He also rushed for 143 yards on 12 carries and two more touchdowns.

Adonis Voulgaris (Wilson, Long Beach): In a spirited performance, the Bruins linebacker recovered two fumbles and recorded five tackles to help his team to an emotional 43-7 victory over Long Beach Jordan. The Wilson campus is reeling from the shooting death of popular student-athlete Melody Ross two weeks ago following a home game with Long Beach Poly and the Bruins' faithful is hoping they can channel that energy in positive fashion during the season finale with state-ranked Lakewood. The winner will be crowned Moore League champion.

Matt Walter (Sacred Heart Prep, Atherton): The 5-11, 175-pound senior running back rushed 23 times for 260 yards and three TDs in a 35-12 win over Aragon of San Mateo. It was the third time Walter's gone over 200-yards this season and his totals are 1,349 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Codee Watts & Brandon Kinalele (Mariposa): Points weren't at a premium in Mariposa's game against Denair, as Watts passed for six touchdowns and Kinalele rushed for three scores and returned two kickoffs for scores in a 77-56 victory. The 133 combined points between the two teams doesn't quite make the list in our ESPN RISE CalHiSports.com Record Book & Almanac but the 56 points scored by Denair in defeat will tie them for second with three other teams that also lost with 56 points this week.

Dion Willis & Myles Johnson (Carson): Junior running back duo, who liken themselves to the San Diego Chargers' duo of LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles, combined to rush for 263 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Colts to a 41-28 victory over Narbonne of Harbor City. Willis rushed for 160 yards and two scores and added three receptions for 42 yards with another score. Johnson, whose had big games the past three weeks, had 103 yards and a score and added 75-yards on kickoff returns.

Michael Yearwood (Arroyo Valley, San Bernardino): In a 47-15 win over San Bernardino, Yearwood had a year-making game despite playing just three quarters. He passed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 130 yards and three more scores.

Zach Zuniga (Vintage, Napa): It's Big Game week in Napa with the Napa High vs. Vintage rivalry being renewed on Friday at Napa Memorial Stadium. It's going to be hard for the Crushers to forget about their last game, however, as Zuniga scored eight touchdowns in a 80-56 win over Armijo of Fairfield. The standout back also had 33 carries for a whopping 399 yards. Seven of Zuniga's touchdowns were on runs with another coming on a 44-yard pass play.

CA, football, stat stars, state record book, Deshawn Beck, Casey Nielsen, Isaac Valdez, Brendon Bigelow, Tyler Bray, Jessie Callier
