Tomorrow is the Heisman Trophy presentation day in New York City. Two Big 12 players, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford are among the finalists.

With such excitement only a day away, here are a few lunchtime links to whet your appetite for tomorrow's festivities.

  • Dave Sittler of the Tulsa World explores the similarities between balloting for the Heisman Trophy and recent political campaigns.
  • Sam Bradford's parents never coddled their only child, even when he was 5 years old and wanted to quit his ice-skating lessons because his coach was a perfectionist, the Oklahoman's Jenni Carlson writes.
  • Nebraska offensive coordinator Shawn Watson told the Lincoln Journal-Star that it would take a special job to get him to leave the Cornhuskers.
  • Kansas wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe told the Lawrence Journal-World's Tom Keegan he credited playing Madden NFL 2009 for helping him to learn how to better read defenses on the field.
  • Colt McCoy's old accounting teacher back in Jim Ned, Texas, kept a personal keepsake after he went away to college. "I saved some of his tests," Kay Whitton told Natalie England of the San Antonio Express-News. "I knew he would be famous."
  • Nebraska coaches are impressed with their first look at Clemson's defense, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
