They're back ...

The Big 12's weekly teleconference was interrupted Monday by a crank caller who was posing as a reporter from a publication called "Big 12 Conference.com."

Briles was confused by the questioning as he was likely thinking most reporters would be interested in his thoughts as his team prepares for Connecticut on Friday night.

"I didn't understand what he was saying," Briles said. "I'm glad it wasn't anything beyond that."

Something tells me that Big 12 officials will start requiring passwords to phone into their teleconferences really quick -- like maybe next week.

After 26 years as a sportswriter, I'm still baffled why anybody who isn't a member of the media would have any interest in participate in these affairs.

Maybe because they are always so lively, I guess.
