I mentioned Oklahoma freshman WR Josh Jarboe's rap video in my morning links, but I finally found a copy of it posted on The Wizard of Odds' outstanding blog.
After watching it myself, I don't think that 50 Cent has anything to worry about, although Jarboe does exhibit some passion about some of his rhymes as he talks about guns and shooting people. Especially noticeable was the vigor he exhibited when he raps. Discretion should be involved if watching this video in front of young children.
Remember, Jarboe was arrested earlier this spring for bringing a gun to Cedar Grove High School in Georgia. His felony charges were reduced to misdemeanors under Georgia's First Offender Act, which allowed him to keep his scholarship at Oklahoma. He is currently serving two years probation.
It will be interesting to see what coach Bob Stoops' reaction about Jarboe's budding musical career will be when he meets with the media at the Sooners' media day next Wednesday. My guess is that Stoops probably will ask his team not to haze Jarboe -- at least if it would keep him from rapping.
I'm also wondering where the filming could have taken place. Notice the logos of Big 12 schools in the background and several students wandering in and out of the background.
My guess for the location? How about the common area of an Oklahoma student dormitory?
