The Oakland Tribune suggests recently fired Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski could emerge as a candidate for either the head coaching job or offensive coordinator job in Oakland. Unless he gets desperate, Jagodzinski, who was fired after interviewing for the Jets' head coaching job, would likely only be interested in the head coaching gig in Oakland.

He'd be an intriguing candidate. He has had success developing quarterbacks, and he has NFL experience as a former tight ends coach and offensive coordinator. He'd be worth Oakland's time examining.

The Kansas City Star reports that, yes, there are rumors that Scott Pioli will become the Chiefs' new general manger soon. But the truth is, after a quiet Thursday, there has been no announcement.

San Diego coach Norv Turner Thursday said what LaDainian Tomlinson's playing chances are: They aren't good. Turner also said he expects kicker Nate Kaeding to be able to play Sunday in the AFC divisional playoff game at Pittsburgh. He took Thursday off to rest a groin injury.
