The San Diego Chargers start the preseason tonight against visiting Dallas. Here's some questions for San Diego as it starts the 2008 season:
How will top pick Antoine Cason fare? Cason is poised to be the No. 3 cornerback this season. The Chargers are very excited about him and he has performed well in training camp. He has been a ball hawk. It will be interesting to see how he does against the Cowboys' passing game.
How will the backup running backs look? With LaDainian Tomlinson not playing, backups Darren Sproles and Jacob Hester will get plenty of chances to prove they can be Tomlinson's top caddie. Sproles is explosive and Hester is more of a grinder. It'll be fun to watch both players.
Can the Chargers stay healthy? The only thing that will get in the way of the Chargers making a real Super Bowl push will be their health. The Chargers injury concerns are well documented. The last thing they need is to suffer another key injury in the preseason opener. Don't expect to see San Diego play its first team very long tonight.
