The word out of the Raiders' camp is that Darren McFadden has been stunning.
He is picking up the Oakland offense very well and has completely bought into the system. He has shown no ego and has immersed himself in the Raiders' playbook.
McFadden does not have it particularly easy, either. He is involved in all aspects of the Raiders' offense. He needs to be honed in and apparently he has been.
I maintain that McFadden is the player to watch in Oakland, and he should be a rookie year candidate. The No. 4 overall draft pick from Arkansas has done little to change my opinion in the first week of Oakland's training camp.
I was impressed with McFadden during Oakland's June minicamp and look forward to seeing him when I visit the Raiders' camp next week.
