On how he is feeling:
I'm getting better each day. It was a tough couple days after the hit on Sunday, and I had some headaches and some residual side-effects from it, but slowly and surely they're going away. And the doctors and trainers were pleased with my progress and I'm feeling healthier and better each day, which is a good thing.

On if he made strides over the weekend:
I had met with the trainers on Friday and the doctors, and just rested all weekend at my house and didn't really do all that much. And I came in here today and met with them this morning and said we're going to give it a go today, there's no reason to hold you back and I was feeling pretty good today at practice. We still need to work some kinks out, work some things out, but for the most part, I thought it was a good practice.

On if he participated fully in practice [Monday]:
I went full-go today. We had a no-huddle period at the start of practice that J.P. (Losman) took and then after that I was full-go with a normal amount of reps.

On if it looks like he will play Sunday:
As far as I'm concerned, yes. We have some tests to run tomorrow and if those come back the way I think they're going to come back, we should be go to go on Sunday.

On what he remembers from the hit that caused his concussion:
I remember calling the play. I remember throwing the ball to James (Hardy) and beyond that, not all too much. I remember sitting in the training room with my pads off and my shoes off and the trainers were around me. I don't remember how I got in the training room. I don't remember really who hit me. That's about it. I had a 10-15 (minute) grace period there when I was kind of out of it and didn't really know where I was, but I slowly came back to it when I was in the training room.

On what he thought of the hit:
I've seen the hit, it was a tough call just because our protection schemes, sometimes we don't have a certain guy blocked, and that's just the way it is in football, and just the way the plays are called, and unfortunately on that play, we didn't have that particular player blocked and that's my job as a quarterback to get it out of my hand and get the ball to the receivers' hands, so it was just a good defensive call on their part. We got the first down, we converted on the third down, which was good, but it was a tough hit to take after that.

On if he was surprised that Adrian Wilson was fined for the hit:
The thing about me is that I've been doing a lot of thinking about this and it's not really in my area to comment on. I get asked about the Jason Peters situation, what's your comment on Jason holding out, what's your comment on Adrian Wilson getting fined for this, and honestly, my stance on this is that it's not in my jurisdiction to comment on it. There are people that do a lot of research on this, there are people who get paid a lot of money, that are supposed to make decisions on whether to get Jason Peters a new contract or whether to fine Adrian Wilson, and that's not my position as a quarterback of this organization to make a comment on that.

On if he felt sharp practicing today:
I did, and I think it was just because I tried to slow myself down. We had some new calls out there today, but I just tried to tell myself out there before practice, just take it one play at a time, just try to go through your reads and if you throw a bad ball, forget about it, you haven't practiced in over a week and it's going to take you some time to get back out there. But I thought I did a good job of just not getting overly excited and getting out of my rhythm. I felt pretty comfortable out there today.

On if this was the first concussion he's ever had:
This is the first one I've had classified as a concussion. I've been dinged and nicked just like every other football player has, but nothing to this extent. Like I said before, I don't recall a majority of what happened after the hit and that's never really happened to me before. I've forgotten plays following a ding or a light knock, but there was a brief period there where I was kind of out of it and that's the first time that's happened to me.

On if the recovery was different than from other injuries:
It was definitely scary. Any time you're talking about your brain and that's obviously going to affect you later on in life after football, and I take a lot of pride in being a smart, intelligent football player and having a brain in my head and making proper decisions both on and off of the field, any time to take a hit to that and it affects your decision-making, you're concerned and have to take some time off. It's also hard, too, because it's pretty much on me, the trainers have to trust my feeling on it, it's not like I can go inside the training room and ice my head for six days straight and it's going to be better now. It's kind of a wait-and-see situation and it's progressing pretty nicely so far right now.

On when his headaches stopped:
I would say they were pretty much gone over the weekend. I hope they're not going to come back. They may or may not, but as of right now, I think they're more concerned with me passing my baseline testing that I had to take at the start of the season. We did the same exact tests that any other NFL team would do after I got that hit and I took the baseline test this past week and I'm going to take it again tomorrow.

On what he did this past weekend:
I watched way too much football and I don't know if that's a good thing. Obviously, OU-Texas, I watched that game, I watched the Chargers play last night, and I'm a big Dodgers fan, so I had to watch my Dodgers get beat by the Phillies, but we won last night, so besides that, I just kind of hung out.

On if he's worried about being too tentative:
I sure hope not. The nice thing is that we have guys in the huddle that I feel comfortable with. If I didn't trust my offensive line to block for me, if I didn't trust my running backs to block for me, then we'd be answering this question way differently. I feel like I have a lot of trust in those guys and we've developed a lot of chemistry through the offseason and through this season so far. I feel very, very confident and very, very comfortable that I'll be able to get back out there and not miss a step.
